Dear Neighbor,

I am delighted to announce my candidacy for the St. Cloud City Council’s At Large seat. With a profound understanding of our city-wide issues and a strong dedication to public service, I am eager to contribute my experience, skills, and empathy to help our city flourish. Having witnessed firsthand St. Cloud's remarkable growth and potential, I am confident in our city's bright future. St. Cloud is a vibrant and welcoming community, known for its small-town charm, tight-knit neighborhoods, and family-friendly atmosphere.

As a nonprofit leader and small business owner, Hudda Ibrahim has spent her entire career building and empowering communities to learn, grow and succeed together. She also hosts programs such as “Dine & Dialogue,” which helps normalize positive relationships among people from different backgrounds. She is committed to building a safe and inclusive community where everyone is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.

I am committed to fostering an environment where our seniors want to retire, and everyone else can find the best possible quality of life. Together, we can build an even stronger, more prosperous future for our beloved city.

My Education Includes:

Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education and Leadership degree at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Taught at St. Cloud Technical and Community College for ten years.
Hold a master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from the University of Notre Dame.
A bachelor’s degree in Conflict Resolution and English literature from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota.
Human Resource certification from Cornell University, New York.

Safe Neighborhoods and Public Safety

Ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods is a top priority for me. As a candidate, I will prioritize policies and initiatives that enhance public safety, reduce crime rates, and create a secure environment for all residents. This includes investing in community policing, emergency response systems, and preventative measures to keep our streets safe.

Supporting Our Law Enforcement

Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve the community, to reduce crime and to keep us all safe. I am committed to providing them with the necessary resources, training, and support to effectively perform their duties. This includes advocating for fair wages, mental health support, and continuous professional development to ensure our officers are well-equipped to serve and protect.

Investing in Economic Development

Economic growth and small business growth are vital for the prosperity of St. Cloud. I will focus on creating an environment that attracts new businesses, supports existing ones, and promotes job creation, as well as reduces taxes. This involves collaborating with local entrepreneurs, investing in workforce development programs, and enhancing the city's infrastructure to make St. Cloud a hub of economic activity and innovation.

Attainable Housing for All

Fair housing is a critical issue that affects many residents. I will work towards increasing the availability of attainable housing options for our seniors, youth and people of all income levels. This includes supporting initiatives that promote the development of workforce housing units, offering incentives for developers, and ensuring that zoning laws facilitate housing options.

Maintenance of Roads and Other Infrastructures

Proper maintenance of our roads and infrastructure is essential for the smooth functioning of the city. I will prioritize the upkeep and improvement of our transportation networks, utilities, and public facilities. This includes addressing potholes, enhancing public transportation, and ensuring that our infrastructure can support future growth and development.

Beautification of the City and Its Amenities

A beautiful city enhances the quality of life for its residents and attracts visitors and businesses. I will advocate for projects that maintain and beautify St. Cloud's public spaces, parks, and recreational facilities. This includes promoting green initiatives, maintaining clean streets, and supporting community-led beautification efforts to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for all.

Hudda Ibrahim, a faculty member and advisor at St. Cloud Technical & Community College, was honored by being named to Times Media's prestigious "5 Under 40" list.

2016 Difference Maker

Her impactful work earned her the title of Difference Maker in 2016, highlighting her efforts in bringing about positive change.

Rock-on Award

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis announced Hudda as this year's recipient of the Rock-On Award during the opening ceremony of Granite City Days.

JCI USA - Young Americans Award

Hudda received recognition in 2024 by the JCI USA Ten Outstanding Young Americans program for her contributions to business, economic and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment.
